HRRR fam complete, the validation reports you crave
I bring you good tidings, friends. Alden said our last newsletter was too long; that information can ONLY be delivered in groups of three. So just close your eyes for a moment (breathe in, breathe out) and imagine all the stuff we've done that he's NOT letting me tell you about. Pretty sick, right? Yeah, I'm proud of that one too. Mmhm, yes, per-file arrival. Anyway --
HRRR family reunion
The HRRR story is filled out: 5 products for analysis and forecasts, spatial- and time-optimized, every model initialization and variable.

The last one was a virtual HRRR analysis, complete with all variables and levels. Check them all out here: https://dynamical.org/catalog/#noaa-hrrr
data.dynamical.org deprecations
Technically the website says:
data.dynamical.org access ends August 31, 2026. If you use a data.dynamical.org URL for this dataset, migrate to a supported access pattern.
But we will extend the deadline to September 30.
We put together a very brief migration guide.
Some of you continue to drive a pretty staggering amount of bandwidth to this route. So check your stuff! It's going away in favor of hittin' the STAC or using dynamical-catalog which is like, better in every way. The proxy was just slowing you down, y'know. We are going to deprecate gently and go data product by data product. Tell your friends, especially if they're the one slammin' the proxy every Thursday with their doom cron.
Validation reports for all
If you're like us and have lost days running down why your model isn't training and realized it's because a data oddity back in 2017, these reports are for you/your agent. Also useful for anyone who wants to get a quick visual sense of any variable in the dataset.

Every dataset in our catalog now has a detailed validation report. They are in our STAC too so you can pass https://stac.dynamical.org/catalog.json to your agent and save yourself hours.
Was that short enough, Alden? Editors note: yes :)
Enjoy the weather MM
